Marvin S. Mayer 
     Marvin Mayer, a native of Louisville, KY began writing children’s books when he retired from a career in banking, bank regulation, and financial management.  Almost immediately upon retiring, he enrolled in a “Writing For Children And Teenagers” course at The Institute For Children’s Literature.  

     In 2011, Ferdinand Frog’s Flight, his first picture book “hopped” onto the scene.  While he likes to write fun, entertaining books that encourage children to enjoy reading, he likes to incorporates a subtle “values” message for his young readers to discover.

     Now residing in the piney woods of East Texas, Marvin is a member of the Society for Children’s Writers and Illustrators (“SCBWI”), East Texas Writers Guild (“ETWG”), the New Jersey Children’s Writers Guild, and the Texas Writers Network.  

     An active volunteer, he spreads his available time among several worth while organizations. Two of his favorite volunteer activities, Tyler Public Library’s “Book Buddy” program and the Children’s Advocacy Center of Smith County, bring smiles to youngsters and to his own heart.

Beverly Stowe McClure 
     Beverly Stowe McClure never planned to write a book. She loved her job as a teacher, however, which eventually led her to a new career: writing for children and teens.

     4RV Publishing has published three of her books, Just Breeze, Tumbleweed Christmas, and Life on Hold, with a fourth book, presently untitled, under contract. She is a member of both the North Texas and the national Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.

     Beverly, a fourth generation Texan, lives in the country with her husband and two cats, not counting the strays that stop by for a handout. Her three sons are grown and married, giving her lovely grandchildren.

     To relax, she plays the piano and reads, of course. She also teaches a women’s Sunday school class.
