       Vehoae (Shirl Yancey) is a native of Washington, D.C., and a graduate of Surrattsville High School (Clinton, MD). She attended Northeastem Junior College (aka, N.I.C.E.) in Villanova, PA, after which she traveled and performed in the music industry. 

     Returning to D.C., vehoae went to work for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. In 1981, she transferred with USDA-Rural Development Administration to Arkansas where she honed skills in writing, researching, speaking, and organizing. 

     After a thirty-year career, vehoae relocated in Oklahoma, where she participated in a variety of activities, some of which involve AKC events, genealogy, ongoing historical document research and related writing.

     Relationship with 4RV Publishing,
her non-fiction work, Conscience: Breaching Social Amnesia, was published by 4RV Publishing in 2011. She is currently working on her first fiction novel.
